A.     The Centre works closely with the Division of Industry and Community Network (Bahagian Jaringan Industri dan Masyarakat [BJIM]), USM. This Division aims to build close, effective, meaningful and sustainable networking and partnering with industry and community to strengthen and empower these entities. In line with this objective, the Centre for Drug Research is currently implementing two community projects funded by BJIM.

 

 bjim2_sB.     ‘Free Yourself from Tobacco and Drugs (BERTEKAD)’ program

1.     a school project aiming to help students through a sustainable educational and prevention program to prevent them from experimenting with drugs.

2.     The program’s efforts are conducted through the dissemination of anti-drug messages and

3.     guiding students to develop a positive attitude towards life through a series of activities including training camps, group projects and other recreational activities.

 

C.    Support Program for Drug Addict’s Family

1.     An additional aftercare program for the addict’s family

2.     Collaborators:

a.     National Anti Drugs Agency

b.     PAYUNG (an NGO)

c.     AIDS Action Research Group, USM

3.     Give health talks to the addict’s family with the hope of exposing and increasing their knowledge on rehabilitating the drug addict.
