2^nd November 2016, CDR has successfully hosted Malaysian Brain Bee Challenge (MBBC) Junior 2016, in collaboration with Department of Neurosciences USM and Universiti Utara Malaysia. The competition was open to primary school students, from standard 4 to standard 6, to test their general knowledge, science and technology, and to expose them to neuroscience. This year, for the screening round, we received 52 participants from selected schools in Penang and Perak (Zone B), which is double the number of participation in 2015. Department of Neurosciences USM hosted participants from selected schools in Kelantan and Terengganu (Zone E), while Universiti Utara Malaysia hosted participants from selected schools in Perlis and Kedah (Zone A). Top ten finalists in each zone were selected to enter the National Final Round, to select best three participants among all finalists from the three zones. The results will be announced online at Department of Neurosciences USM’s website latest on 14^th November 2016. We hope to repeat last year’s success where the champion of MBBC Junior 2015 was from Zone B – SK Tarcisian Convent, Ipoh, Perak.
